I was not athletic growing up at all. In my mid 40’s I started running and continued to do so until I retired. Running worked really well for me because I traveled for work 95% of time. It was very easy to run no matter where I was located.
When I retired in 2017 I realized that running was just a small part of taking care of myself. I looked at several gyms trying to figure out a good fit for me because I knew if the fit wasn’t right, I wouldn’t follow through with a fitness program. Aspire welcomed me with open arms. It was a community that praised me for my efforts and accomplishments no matter my abilities, appearance or age. Having someone look out for my physical well being was a perfect fit.
I’m very determined when I decide to do something. I set my schedule and made going to gym my priority which is a huge part of my success. Working out is what starts my day and puts me in a very positive frame of mind. It is my #1 priority every day whether it is going to the gym or walking and having my weekly appointments definitely keeps me on track.
How I take care of my health and fitness are my most important decisions in life. I have been able to keep my brain active and my body supple both physically and mentally. It has been an amazing journey and exercise has been a way to celebrate myself. I want to continue to celebrate myself for as long as I can.
