I came to ASPIRE because I was about to start a new chapter in my life (retirement) and I wanted accountability. I had a goal to be my BEST SELF physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually and financially. I had worked with trainers in the past and had always had success. However, this time I wanted my fitness journey to be a constant for the remainder of my life
(no matter what was happening in my life).
The secret to my success is that I’m dedicated and unapologetically committed to MY self care. For me self care is not selfish, it’s necessary for me to show up in the spaces I have to operate in. For example, caring for my 91 year old mom, maintaining my home life and quality relationships with family and friends. I believe your wealth is your health and without your health not much is accomplished.
I’ve maintained my motivation with positive self talk and realizing I’m a work in progress. I feel fit, strong, confident and even more self-assured. It also doesn’t hurt to see myself in a swimsuit or try on clothes that were once snug and now they’re fitting without the stomach and “back fat” bulging out. As Mary J. Blige would say, I like what I see when I’m looking at me….
What’s next….To be continued
- My goal is to compete in a senior bodybuilding contest.
- Traveling the world and touching foot on every continent.
- Enjoying my family and living my life to the fullest.
